  • The Who

    Zebra (Creative, determined, loyal)

    It was likely the fact that in the early days, I was a walking cliche wearing mostly black and white (isn’t that what designers do?) that probably made the zebra persona stick. What rings true today is my passion for delivering strong ideas. I’ve been in the design and creative industry for over 25 years, have experienced both the client and agency side of the fence, and was a founding partner of Bigwig back in 2003.

  • The What

    Of course creative, but mixing that with a deeper commercial understanding of clients is really where it’s at.

  • The Why

    I’m the unofficial ‘mum’ of the agency and relish working alongside such a talented and wonderful bunch. The relationship we develop with clients is really important to me and being a ‘go to’ external arm of their business is my ‘pinch me’ moment. When clients succeed, we do… and that’s really the crux of it all.

  • On a Personal Note

    In my personal time you’ll find me wrangling teenagers, at pilates, hiking with the fam, baking with as much chocolate as possible, walking the dog, vanquishing dog hair, gardening and generally trying to keep indoor plants alive.

    I’m a nerd at heart with a passion for getting involved, learning and mastering all things tech. The internet has been my realm for over 30 years, whilst venturing in and out of other worlds, like finance and engineering, before ultimately finding my happy place in digital and creative. The Bigwig team is my 5 out of 7 family and the business is a vehicle to take everyone on a wild ride.

    All things digital with a soft spot for startup ideas.

    Spending time in a super interesting and ever-changing environment, whilst working with such amazing clients and colleagues. Bringing ideas to life and clients’ success, whilst striving for personal growth and business sustainability.

  • On a Personal Note

    My personal interests include, Skiing – frozen or melted. Adrenaline… Bring it! But on the flipside, watching a movie in bed is just as good. StockX (Nike ‘Dunks’) obsession. Recycling and food, eating, eating food and yeah, probably food.

    To push ideas beyond the expected and create outcomes that shape brands and leave a lasting impression. Design, for me, is about clever problem-solving, meaningful connections and enjoying every twist and turn of the creative journey.

    For almost a decade, I’ve worked as a solo creative across in-house and freelance roles and everything in between. After years of balancing design work with study, I’m thrilled to be part of the Bigwig team, collaborating with such talented creatives and contributing to work I’m genuinely proud of.

  • The What

    I’m always up for anything creative, but graphic design is my main focus (especially anything involving page layout). I also have a soft spot for photography and will jump at the chance to pick up my camera and start shooting.

  • The Why

    I love solving puzzles, and graphic design feels like one big puzzle. There’s just something about making things organised, efficient, and pleasing to the eye that makes me happy. I also really value being surrounded by people who get me. It wouldn’t be as fun without the people I get to work with.

  • On a Personal Note

    I’m a bit of a hobby collector, often making the mistake of saying, “I bet I could do that myself.” Over the years, I’ve dabbled in scrapbooking, jewellery making, dancing, hiking, clay sculpting (I even tried making my own clay once) and knitting… Just to name a few. When I’m not making something, I’m probably on the couch with my partner and my dog, Leo.

    I enjoy the simple things in life, like peeled pistachios and taking a day off to ‘babysit’ my beautiful son. Born and raised in Sri Lanka, I am a true family man and enjoy bringing my worldly knowledge to my role as Web & Lead App Developer. You can always count on me to apply my analytical problem-solving skills to any situation.

    Software and app development (web, mobile & server) with a passion for ReactJS, React Native, Native Android, IOS, and, Cloud engineering. I enjoy being a team leader and Information Security Specialist.

  • The Why

    My role as Web & Lead App Developer allows me to express my analytical thinking, I enjoy the challenge and flex my problem-solving skills. I love the lifecycle of projects from research to execution because I take great pride in my work and ability to bring ideas to life. I’m constantly striving to learn and implement new technologies to ensure best practice results in this rapidly changing industry.

    I love jumping in the car and going off-roading, enjoying a BBQ outdoors, travelling and experiencing different cultures, and spending time with the family.

    I would consider myself an observer of the world, finding beauty in the little things. I am all about learning and growing, whether it’s through delving into the world of science, programming, and personal development. That is why Full Stack Developer is the go-to career for me as I can use my passion and skills to create apps that not only positively impact other people’s lives but my personal development too.

    I have a diverse set of high-level skills in web and mobile development, server-side programming and database management. My innate curiosity and passion for solving complex coding challenges have led to my ability to deliver exceptional products and solutions to clients.

  • The Why

    I have always been inspired by the constantly evolving nature of technology and the opportunity to learn in the tech space continuously. Every day provides a new problem to solve or a skill to master and to put it simply, I welcome these challenges. I’m always excited about new technology around programming development, AI and algorithms.

  • On a Personal Note

    Did someone say Hainanese Chicken – I could have it every day! In my spare time, I’m the kind of guy who likes to sit back and put on epic orchestral tracks that feel like they should belong in a movie.
